Champlain Country Club is looking to hire a detail orientated, self-motivated, and skilled superintendent. Requirements of the job will entail continuing existing projects the board has already approved, maintain the course on a daily basis to be in the best playable condition, and communicate with the Board on a monthly basis on status of the greens. We are looking for a superintendent with strong management skills to oversee greens crews to delegate, and prioritize projects as seen necessary.
Under the direction of a new superintendent, Champlain Country Club’s objective is to continue to be recognized as a great destination for golf in Northern Vermont.
Champlain Country Club located at 581 St. Albans Road in Swanton, VT, it was founded in 1915 by a group of railroad personnel. The course originated as 9 holes, then expanded as an 18-hole par 71 course in 1990. Currently the course is club owned with a Board of Directors of 7.
The Club was the host of the Vermont State Amateur and the Vermont Senior tournaments in 2015. New turf equipment has been added in the last 3 years, and a new fleet of golf carts to be delivered in 2018.
Responsibilities will include providing annual working budgets, with strong conservativism to be within budget, recruit, supervise, and retain maintenance staff, as well as preparing all State required reports. The objective is to oversee the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, wetlands and grounds. Currently a tree removal plan is in progress to improve sunlight, as well as repair and improving drainage throughout the course.
Attendance to monthly board meetings and greens committee meetings throughout the season is required. It is expected of the position to provide and follow all OSHA, club, state and federal guidelines.

2-3 years in Turf Grass Management or related field preferred. A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a superintendent or assistant superintendent. Must have, or obtain a Vermont Pesticide Applicators License before 2018.

Two Roads Hospitality is seeking a qualified equipment technician to oversee the grounds equipment fleet of the Stowe Country Club golf course. Candidate must be a professional individual with practical knowledge of light and heavy motorized equipment. The equipment technician is responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance of; utility carts, mowing equipment, tractors, and specialty implements. Responsibility also includes the general upkeep of the Turf Care Facility.
Stowe Country Club is one of two 18-hole golf courses at Stowe Mountain Club. Stowe Country Club is located in the village of Stowe and Stowe Mountain Club golf course is located seven miles away at the mountain resort. Two Roads Hospitality manages Stowe Mountain Club and Stowe Country Club. Each operation is self-sufficient and has its own staff, equipment fleet, and facilities. Some equipment is shared periodically to maximize production capabilities. The equipment technician will work closely with the Director of Agronomy, golf course superintendent, and the Stowe Mountain Club equipment manager to schedule and facilitate equipment use, transportation, and maintenance.
The equipment technician is considered a core employee among the Stowe Mountain Club golf team. This person must be a motivated individual that can initiate procedures and systems that will contribute to the progression of Stowe Country Club as it undergoes major improvements. Training will be provided in golf course- specific equipment and associated procedures to the right candidate as needed. Preference will be given to the candidate that demonstrates a strong desire to foster high-quality work place standards.
High School diploma, additional trades/technical training preferred
Prior golf course equipment repair and maintenance is preferred but not required. Must have working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses and aptitude for associated repair and maintenance. Experience in basic welding and fabrication. Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential for electrical and hydraulic systems in equipment. Excellent organizational skills and commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, presentation, and personal appearance are considered highly desirable candidate qualifications. Must comprehend purchasing procedures and have knowledgeable budget awareness. Must possess valid driver’s license.
